get yolked burger with maple aioli

Ingredients

3 Large Onions thinly sliced

4 Cloves Garlic minced

3 Tbsp Butter

1 lb. Ground Beef

1 lb. Ground Pork Breakfast Sausage

1 Egg

½ Cup Panko Bread Crumbs

1 tsp Maple Sugar (or Maple Syrup)

1 tsp Pink Himalayan Sea Salt

1/3 Cup Avocado Mayo

1 Tbsp Pure Maple Syrup

Hamburger Buns (Check out our recipe for Homemade Maple Buns)

Sliced Sharp Cheddar Cheese (One per Burger)

Eggs (One per Burger)

Directions

Melt butter in a pan over medium heat. Add onions and caramelize (approximately 15 minutes). Add the garlic and sauté for 2 minutes more. Set aside.

While the onions caramelize, mix together the beef, pork, egg, bread crumbs, maple sugar, and salt. Form into patties.

Place patties onto oiled griddle pan or grill and cook until preferred doneness. We like a medium finish – just a little pink – you do want to make sure the pork is cooked through.

Meanwhile, mix the mayo and maple syrup and set aside.

Set burgers aside to rest while you fry the eggs over easy. One per burger. Leave yolk runny.

Spread the maple mayo on the inside of each bun, then top with burger patty, cheese, caramelized onions, and finish with the egg.

Press down slightly to get the oozy yolk effect!
