Quick Dough

Ingredients

1 Cup Warm Water

1 Tbsp Dry Active Yeast

1 Tbsp Raw Honey

2 ½ Cups All Purpose Flour

1 tsp Sea Salt

Directions

In a small bowl, mix the yeast with the honey and warm water. Set it aside to proof for five minutes. (This process activates your yeast. It should begin to bubble and foam. If it does not, your yeast is dead and should be discarded.)

Mix the flour and salt in the bowl of a stand mixer.

After the yeast has proofed, add it to the flour mixture using the dough hook attachment. Mix until it comes together. (If it’s too dry, add warm water in small increments. Alternatively, if it’s too wet, add flour in small increments.)

Continue kneading with the dough hook for 5 minutes.

Place the dough ball in a greased bowl covered with a damp towel. Let rise for at least 10 minutes.

At this point, the dough can be used for whatever is needed.

If you’re making a loaf of bread, grease a bread pan, place the dough inside and bake At 375° for approximately 35 minutes or until crust is golden brown.

For Pizza Crust: Add 2 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp oregano, and 1 tsp basil to the flour mixture. Grease a pizza pan and dust with cornmeal. Roll and stretch out dough over pan and top as desired.

For Rolls or Breadsticks: Add whatever spices you’d like to the flour mixture. Grated cheese is also a delicious addition. Form into either small balls for rolls or long sticks for breadsticks. Let them rise on a parchment lined baking pan a second time for another 15 minutes. Lightly brush with an egg wash (1 egg mixed with 2 Tbsp water). Then bake at 375° for about 15-20 minutes.
